SECCO Training Center
Train and take the national skill-standard test for building electricians in one place, at the SECCO branch of TEMCA's testing centre in Samut Prakan.
Training and the national test in one place
The SECCO Training Center trains building electricians and runs their national skill-standard test. It is the SECCO branch of the national skill-standard testing centre of the Thai Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Association (TEMCA), under the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour.
SECCO Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. manages the centre, and SECCO is a founding member of TEMCA. Candidates complete their training hours and take the test at the same centre: one day of training, then the test on a second day.
Thai law requires building electricians to be certified. A Ministry of Labour notice of 27 October 2015 lists building electrician as an occupation that may be dangerous to the public, so the work must be done by people who hold a certificate of knowledge and ability. The centre's guidance notes fines of 30,000 baht for the employer and 5,000 baht for the worker if the rule is broken.
